I am dying but I there is so much I still want to do.
I want to create peace in Germany and hear the voices of my people.
But now I cannot, and I know my son will abandon my ideals.

The 99-day king, Frederick III, German Emperor.

Frederick III (also known as Fritz) was the German Emperor from March 9th to 15th of June 1888. His father Wilhelm I with Bismarck united Germany under Prussian rule in 1871 and his son Wilhelm II led Germany into war in 1914 . He died of throat cancer (larynx) at the age of 56, and was unable to talk and had to communicate through writing.
He had ideas of changing Germany and making it more liberal and more like Britain but he died before any changes could be made.
